Proposed Covid-19 Addendum to leases
Some students are concerned about the possibility of the University moving to online-only instruction in the future due to COVID-19. In the event that the University does end in-person instruction in the middle of a lease term, some students would like to break their lease legally. Typically, leases do not allow for this. However, students may want to consider making it a condition to sign a lease or lease renewal that the landlord agree to sign this addendum (pdf).
Please note, your landlord is not required to sign this addendum (pdf) and may choose not to do so.
