Campus Community Connection

The CCC committee is a venture between the Cities of Champaign and Urbana and the Office of the Dean of Students at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. The committee members work to ensure students and residents have exposure to resources available to them as citizens residing in Champaign and Urbana. Recently the committee has helped organize these projects:

Door Hangers

Each fall, the committee and the Office of the Dean of Students, CCSS unit, plans a community canvassing event where over 7,000 door hangers are dispersed to students living independently near the Campus District in each of the twin cities. The hangers include information introducing students to their cities as well as helpful resources in regards to local contacts, city regulations, and how to party safely within your neighborhood community.

CCC Resource Expo

In conjunction with CCSS in the Office of the Dean of Students, the CCC committee has helped strategically plan regular events to create opportunities for campus and community collaborations and to raise students’ awareness of the community resources available to them. Each semester the Illini Union South Lounge is the home for these Expo events.
