  • Special Populations Health Programs Pre-Professional Graduate Assistant
    The Special Populations’ PGA is a graduate student designated by the Director of Health Education to assist in the overall coordination of the Special Populations’ Health Education programs. The key areas of responsibilities include, but are not limited to, plan, implement and evaluate illness prevention programs. The PGA coordinates, facilitates and maintains contacts at graduate/undergraduate residence halls, Greeks, fraternities/sororities, registered student organizations and also, plays major roles in planning all campus wide special events, including programs for student with special needs, or those physically challenged. The PGA reports to the Director of Health Education. Applicants must be enrolled in the departments of Kinesiology and Community Health, Social Work, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Educational Policy Studies.
  • Special Populations Health Programs Pre-Professional Graduate Assistant
    The Special Populations PGA is a graduate student designated by the Director of Health Education to assist in the overall coordination of the Special Populations Health Education programs. The key areas of responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordination, facilitation and maintenance of contacts and services at La Casa Cultural Center, Asian American Cultural Center and Native American Cultural House. The designated PGA also provides services to LGBT groups and directly promotes overall cross-cultural health education activities in the campus. The PGA reports to the Director of Health Education. Applicants must be enrolled in the departments of Kinesiology and Community Health, Social Work, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Educational Policy Studies.
  • Special Populations Health Programs Pre-Professional Graduate Assistant
    The Special Populations’ PGA is a graduate student designated by the Director of Health Education to assist in the overall coordination of the Special Populations’ Health Education programs. The key areas of responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the Director of Health Education to provide services at the ARC Wellness Center, collaborate, facilitate and maintain contact and services with the International Student and Scholar Services office and international student groups, organize orientation services for international and various campus groups, assist with special awareness months and activities including health fairs, World AIDS Day, etc. The PGA coordinates contacts with local health agencies and serves as the Special Populations’ fund raising specialist. The PGA reports to the Director of Health Education. Applicants must be enrolled in the departments of Kinesiology and Community Health, Social Work, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Educational Policy Studies.
  • Health Resource Center Pre-Professional Graduate Assistant
    This position is designed to assist the Health Education Unit in the overall operation of the Health Resource Center (HRC). The key areas of responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the Director of Health Education to supervise services at the Health Resource Center at the Illini Union and satellite sites. Assist in recruiting, training and supervising student workers at the HRC. Coordinates workers’ rotation and pharmaceutical supplies. Facilitates and maintains contact and programs at the African American Cultural Center, the Principal Scholars Program, Upward Bound Program and Bridge Program. The PGA reports to the Director of Health Education. Applicants must be enrolled in the departments of Kinesiology and Community Health, Social Work, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Educational Policy Studies.
  • Health Education Unit Pre-Professional Graduate Assistant
    The individual in this position will provide logistical and technical support to the unit health educators especially with data related activities, web maintenance and also with the overall facilitation of the Health Resource Center and in the execution of some key services as deemed necessary by the Director of Health Education. The key areas of responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the overall Health Education unit with logistics and technical support including data related projects, web maintenance, graphic design, and development of flyers, handouts and posters. The PGA also assists with preparing unit reports, newsletters and assisting students with development of health education materials/handouts, and marketing and public relation services. The PGA reports to the Director of Health Education. Applicants must be enrolled in the departments of Kinesiology and Community Health, Social Work, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Educational Policy Studies.
  • Sexual Health Pre-Professional Graduate Assistant
    The PGA for Sexual Health Education at McKinley Health Center will assist the professional health educator with programs and services on sexuality health. The designated PGA, among others, will assist with facilitating outreach programs on campus, developing sexual health education materials, training sexual health peer educators and assisting the Sexual Health Educator with sexual health projects. Evaluation of performance will be based on the PGA’s commitment and achievement in these areas. Applicants must be enrolled in the departments of Kinesiology and Community Health, Social Work, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Educational Policy Studies.
  • Stress Management Pre Professional Graduate Assistantship
    The duties connected to this appointment are to assist the Stress Management Coordinator with the development and enhancement of stress and wellness related programs and services. Assist with the coordination of the stress management peers, peer trainings, facilitating workshops, and other outreach activities on campus. Applicants must be enrolled in the departments of Kinesiology and Community Health, Social Work, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Educational Policy Studies.
  • Nutrition Education Pre-Professional Graduate Assistant
    Assists the Nutrition Education coordinator with teaching classes and peer education training of undergraduate students. The Nutrition PGA refines skills in patient education in individual and group settings and learns to effectively implement nutrition education into a college health center and in a university living setting. Applicants must be enrolled in the departments of Kinesiology and Community Health, Social Work, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Educational Policy Studies.
